Die Flagge von
Wisconsin wurde am 29.04.1913 eingeführt. Sie zeigt ein einfarbig blaues Grundtuch und in
der Mitte das Wappen des Staates. Seit 1981 (nach anderen Quellen 1979 oder auch
1980) erscheint oberhalb des Wappens der Name des Landes und unterhalb die Jahreszahl
1848, das Jahr in dem Wisconsin als 30ster Staat der USA beitrat.
The flag of Wisconsin
was introduced on 29th of April in 1913. It shows a single-coloured blue bunting and in
the middle of the coat of arms of the state. Since 1981 (according to other sources 1979
or even 1980) appears above the emblem the name of the country and below the number 1848,
the year in which Wisconsin became the 30th state of the USA.
Ein ähnlich Flagge war
bereits im Jahre 1863 während des Bürgerkrieges für die Truppen aus Wisconsin
eingeführt worden. Sie wurde bis 1887 verwendet.
A similar flag had
already been introduced in 1863 during the Civil War for the troops from Wisconsin. It was
used until 1887.
Das Wappen von
Wisconsin zeigt einen viergeteilten goldenen Schild. In den Vierteln werden die einzelnen
Wirtschaftszweige des Landes dargestellt: ein Pflug (Landwirtschaft), Schaufel und Hacke
(Bergbau), ein Arm mit einem Hammer in der Hand (Produktion), ein Anker (Verkehr). In der
Mitte des Schildes ist ein runder Herzschild aufgelegt, der die Heraldik und das
Staatsmotto der USA zeigt. Links und rechts des Schildes ein Seeman und ein Bergmann. Das
Schild ruht auf einem Füllhorn und einer Pyramide aus Kanonenkugeln. Über dem Schild ein
Dachs und ein hellblaues Spruchband mit dem Motto des Landes: "Forward" =>
"Vorwärts".
The coat of arms of
Wisconsin shows a quartered golden shield. In the quarters are represented the sectors of
the economy of the country: a plow (agriculture), pick and shovel (mining), an arm with a
hammer in his hand (production), an anchor (transport). In the middle of the shield, a
round heart-shield showing the heraldry and the state motto of the United States. Left and
right of the shield, a seaman and a miner. The shield rests on a cornucopia and a pyramid
of cannonballs. Above the shield, a badger and a blue banner with the motto of the
country: "Forward". |
